Samaritan benefit

Samaritan benefit The Samaritan Center for Counseling and
Education enjoyed a sellout benefit Thursday evening at River Oaks
Country Club. Pictured are, from left, honorees Mary Ralph Lowe of
the Lowe Foundation and Melinda Perrin, Hermann Hospital board
chair, and chairs Pam and Billy Burge.
Also honored for their community work were pastors Rudy and
Juanita Rasmus of St. John's United Methodist Church and Ann
Wilde, volunteer with the mentally retarded and Texas Special
Olympics. Serving as honorary chairs were Sylvan Rodriguez and Dr.
Shelly Sekula.
Participating in the program were board president Jane Reeves,
executive director the Rev. Gerald DeSobe and the Rev. M. Rick
Carpenter of University Baptist Church. The center provides
pastoral counseling on a charitable basis on a sliding fee scale
for individuals, couples, children and families.
